These pictures were taken over Labor Day weekend 2009 only 65 miles from Panama City Beach. Dog Island is small at 6.8 miles in length, accessible only by boat, ferry or airplane. The Nature Conservancy owns most of the island and there is only one hotel, the Pelican Inn
